COURSE DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this course is to provide a
general overview of the art of the traditional cultures of Africa, North
America and the South Pacific. This overview will be presented within a
critical framework that questions the relationship between "civilized"
viewers and so-called "primitive" art. |
