By ěhisî love, Satan is referring to Godís love. Love was a curse cast upon Satan, and he was now controlled by it. Satan was created with only good deeds in mind, but soon those good deeds got the better of Satan and he thirst for all the other things he was deprived of. Just as Ambrosio did in The Monk (Lewis, Matthew). Ambrosio was brought up with monastic ideas in his mind, and that soon created a problem for him as well. For Ambrosio, he lusted after all that he had been deprived of, and Satan seemed to follow the same path. Satan's thirst for power was caused by his insatiable goodness that he has lived with his entire life that now needed to be satisfied by something new and exciting. For Satan, his thirst was for power, power to strive above God, the maker of his being. Love is a good thing, but in Satan's case too much love turned out to be his downfall.
Although we see Satan blaming God and his love, we have also just witnessed Satan in another light, by means of the light of sun which has just reminded him off all he is missing in Heaven, including the love. Though Satan sees love as a curse, Satan also misses the love he feels is no longer present, and the love which is 'bringing' him much misery. God's loves everyone, and its left up to the interpretation of the individual how they view that love and use that love which has been given to them. For Satan, he seems to see love as a bad thing, which is why, as ridiculous as it may sound, Satan blames his hatred on the love of God.
