Satan BRINGS the fury of Hell with him. He is bringing his evil and unhappiness into Eden. No good can come from him; everything that he touches is doomed. He wreaks havoc everywhere, almost as if he were cursed, whether with punishment for his pride, or cursed from the beginning of his existence. Satan BRINGS his evil like a plague or disease, infecting all who encounter him. Satan taints all whom he encounters. The gift of knowledge that Satan offers Adam and Eve is really the suffering of his own that he wishes them to share. The remorse and pain that Satan BRINGS everywhere he goes are false compared to the guilt and regret that Adam and Eve feel when they know all that Satan knows. They are sorry for their actions. Satan experiences merely moments of guilt, swallowed up by his rage. Satan tries to justify his existence as necessary to the balance of life- without evil, there is no good, and it takes the contrast between Satan and Adam and Eve to illustrate this.
