Ambition is a sin Satan commits that demonstrates his desire for power.  When given power by God, Satan discovered how much he enjoyed having that power.  He wanted to be a leader and replace God.  Satan knows that if he were to repent he would end up missing the power that he had had during his exile from Heaven.
