The word ROUND itself, means "circular", and relates to the shape of an object. The phrase ROUND ABOUT HIM pertains to a force that surrounds or envelopes a person, confronting him wherever he turns.

ROUND could be a descriptive word for Hell, implying that it is circular, never-ending and infinite. ROUND also describes the instrument of strife that Satan uses to tempt Eve- an apple. A ROUND is a type of song that is repeated over and over again, with parts overlapping and circling around each other. Satan’s punishment is much like this. No matter what he does, he is trapped and doomed to repeat the same mistakes for eternity. Satan thinks that he can trick Adam and Eve into leaving Paradise to him and his minions, but Hell is a part of him and always will be. Satan is responsible for his own misery; his situation is the result of a choice he made using free will.
