One has to question if this really makes any sense. Is Adam really worried about death? Does death even exist? In the story, "death" doesn't happen until the character "Death" (along with "Sin") make their way onto Earth. God's threat is quite real; He definitely will follow through if his one rule is broken. But, one has to wonder just how intimidating this line was to Adam.
