How Should Ye?

While this is the first question in this piece out of many in the series, it is one that Satan continues to ask and continues to answer by giving Eve every possible reason for why she will not die.

In the book, John Milton: Poetry by David M. Miller on page 127 he states, “Satan has grounds for reasonable doubt, and he rises to the task like a classical orator.  His argument is sophistical, legalistic ,and untrue;…he builds a glorious rhetorical argument which climbs paradox of theology.”  This is a good point one could even argue that Eve even with more knowledge would have probably given into Satan still because he makes disobeying God’s command to her sound so “petty”.
