Mechanical Engineering Lab I
University of Massachusetts Lowell Mechanical Engineering
ME22.302 Mechanical Engineering Lab course requires students
to become familar with instrumentation used in the common mechanical
measurements. Students work in teams of 3 students in acquiring data
in a variety of different labs. These pages contain some brief overview
material pertaining to each of the lab setups. There are separate lab
writeups for each of the lab exercises that should be used for specific
discussion on each lab. (Note: Your browser must be configured to
automatically launch an MPEG viewer to access these multimedia files or
the browser can be configured to open the file using whatever multimedia
devices that are available on your computer.)

Digital Data Acquisition provides
several individual files that give an overview of the setup for computer
acquisition of electrical signals

Quantifying Electrical Energy provides
several individual files that give an overview of the setup for the use
of oscilloscope, multimeter and related equipment

Strain Gage Measurements provides
several individual files that give an overview of the setup for the use
of strain gages and their associated equipment

Fluid Flow Measurements (not available yet) provides
several individual files that give an overview of the setup for the use
of pressure transducers, flow meters and their associated equipment
for the fluid flow experiment

Heat Transfer Measurements (not available yet) provides
several individual files that give an overview of the setup for the use
of thermocouples and their associated equipment for use in the fin heat
transfer experiment

LVDT and Accelerometer Measurements
provides several individual files that give an overview of the setup for the use
of the LVDT, accelerometer and their associated equipment for use in the
simple harmonic motion experiment
