SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS

Some of these sites are academic; others are purely for entertainment.  If you have a site you think should be up here, let me know, and I'll add it.

Glossary: It might be helpful for you to print this out.  You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with its contents.

Midterm exam study questions This is the sheet I handed out in class; it will be helpful for the final exam, too.

Filmographies of authors

Filmographies of directors

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb): This is the go-to site for the basic information on most any film.

The American Film Institute (AFI): Less flash than IMDb, some better content.

The British Film Institute (BFI): As above, only British.

The Acadmey of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: More than just the Oscars, really....

FilmFestivals.com: It might not come to Showcase Cinema in Lowell, but that doesn't mean it's not good!

atom films: See shorts by some established filmmakers and some unknowns.

The National Film Preservation Board at the Library of Congress: Film is more than narrative, it's cultural history!

Netflix.com: I belong; it's convenient and membership reasonably priced if you watch more than four movies a month.

More to come!  This page is under perpetual construction!
