The largest organization of psychologists in the world, the APA provides numerous links for students and professionals on almost every aspect of psychological theory, research and practice.

This is the home page for the American psychiatric Asociation (the folks who brought you DSM), with an interesting newsletter and links to numerous sites, plus pages of current information for professionals and students.

A site maintained by a practicing psychiatrist, this page links you to a weekly newsletter that provides up-to-date information about a variety of mental disorders, as well as links to other valuable sites and publications.

Detailed information about most of the major mental disorders as well as many of the medicines used in psychiatry, plus many full text articles from reliable sources.

This site has it all: descriptions of disorders, articles and abstracts, as well as chat areas and other useful resources, and it is very searchable. It is, however, more geared toward a general audience and is more like a popular magazine.

This government agency is the largest source of funds for research and for development of programs in the field of mental health, this site contains up-to-date information about some of the newest trends and most exciting research.
