This $4.046 million grant from the Massachusetts Life Science Center Capital Program funds supports the creation the Big Company/Little Company Innovation Hub where medical device and bio-tech startup companies will benefit from M2D2 incubation services while receiving funding and mentoring from larger, established medical device companies.
  • Vision Project Performance Incentive Grant Program, $86,000

    • Co-authored with Assoc. Vice Provost Charlotte Mandell and Robin Toof, this project examined how experiential learning activities (i.e., DifferenceMaker, Service Learning, Coop) aligned with the LEAP assessment framework. The funds noted were dedicated to DifferenceMaker innovation and entrepreneurship activities. A one year program which was reauthorized with additional funding for the subsequent year.

    • Two year project funded through the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative to support the commercialization of medical device inventions and create employment in the Commonwealth. Authored and negotiated no-cost extension for project ($317,000 of initial funds). My focus is on the development and operation of business plan activities involving College of Management students working with medical device inventors.
  • Using Web 2.0 Tools to Deepen Student Engagement & Faculty Collaboration

    • This one-year project supports the development of online course activities that leverage the social networking and personalization tools introduced by Web 2.0. Anchored in the concepts of Communities of Practice, the PI's will develop, pilot and share online business course activities and assignments that take advantage of Web 2.0 tools for use in MIS and Management courses while creating a common pool of online, instruction-related resources for both UMass Lowell and UMass Dartmouth management faculty.

    • This two year project funded through the Davis Educational Foundation will expand the use of technology in the assessment of student learning across academic disciplines. Working with an interdisciplinary faculty team, the project will use UMassOnlineÕs WebCT course management system to develop course web sites for twelve General Education and Management courses that clearly articulate learning objectives, course assignments and related assessment activities.

    • Invited to provide faculty training and support to 15 UMass faculty as part of multi-campus National Science Foundation grant designed to develop an online Masters degree program in Science Education. A $55,000 component of $1.2 million award.
  • Developmental Disabilities Online I/II

    • Project Evaluator for Developmental Disabilities Online I project, operated by the Eunice K. Shriver Center at UMass Medical Center. This federally funded project developed a four course online program to educate advocates and staff working with individuals with disabilities. Currently coordinating the evaluation project for the DD Online II project which expands on the activities initiated during the first project.
