It has been found that the PEVK region of the giant muscle protein titin plays a major role in muscle's elastic function. Our goal is to use a combination of experimental and computational approaches to characterize the structural and functional properties of human skeletal muscle PEVK region. We intend to identify the interactions that contribute to the elastic properties of this region using different combinations of PPAK and polyE modules within PEVK region. Molecular Dynamic simulations and computational investigation of the PEVK region was performed in prof. Barsegov's lab.
