Dr. Xiaobai Li is a Professor of information systems and business analytics in the Department of Operations and Information Systems, Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He received his Ph.D. in management science from the University of South Carolina in 1999.
Dr. Li's research focuses on data science, business analytics, data privacy, and information economics. He has received funding for his research from National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF). His work has appeared in Information Systems Research, Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Operations Research, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Communications of the ACM, Decision Support Systems, INFORMS Journal on Computing, and European Journal of Operational Research, among others.
Dr. Li has taught database management, programming languages, data analytics, data mining, statistics, and other information systems and business analytics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, Dr. Li taught at the University of Texas at Dallas. In addition, he had worked in industry for 10 years as an engineer, an analyst, and a manager.
