COURSE DESCRIPTION:
"Introduction to ECE" is designed to introduce freshman students to information
and resources about Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as the cutting
edge on-going research in this area. ECE has been one of the most
fast-developing area and has a high impact on society. From electrical, to
optical, to information and to bioengineering, the world has been pushing
forward by technology and engineering. As a next-generation engineer and
researcher, students will be aware of this fast-developing technologies, and be
well prepared for the tasks. Hands-on experiments are highlight. Also, the
students will be guided to form a habit of keeping log books for data saving and
tracking.
In addition, we will invite faculty from UMass Lowell and outside
universities, researchers from industry, and alumni to give us a speech. Through
this process, the freshman students will formulate their career objectives and
paths to achieve these goals. They will also set up a four-year plan for his/her
study here in UMass Lowell.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
