We'll be watching and discussing some great films -- with some animated favorites as warm-ups -- in anticipation of seeing Bob Clyman's play Secret Order at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre!

Monday, April 9 at 6pm in O'Leary 222
South Park  "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig":  The boys face ethical dilemmas as they prepare for the science fair, and Dr. Mehpisto sheds some light on the uses of genetic engineering.
The Island of Dr. Moreau (Don Taylor, 1977):  Mad science runs amok on a tropical island in this version of the novel by H.G. Wells. Can Lionman remember the rule? No spill blood!

Tuesday, April 10 at 6pm in Lydon Library Media Center
The Simpsons "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)":  Homer invents Tomacco, the ultimate in addictive cash crops, and must wrestle with his conscience and the Laramie Tobacco Corporation.
The Insider (Michael Mann, 1999):  Russell Crowe plays a tobacco executive who teams up with Journalist Al Pacino to blow the whistle on his company's unethical practices in this high-powered thriller.

Proof (John Madden, 2005):  Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins star in this drama about a genius mathematician's legacy, and the fear, love, respect, and competition that bind both families and academics.

Frankenweenie (Tim Burton, 1984):  In this early Tim Burton short, the Frankensteins are a nice, suburban family, but comedy and chaos ensue when little Victor resurrects his pet dog, Sparky.
Frankenstein (James Whale, 1931):  Boris Karloff is the monster in the definitive film version of Mary Shelly's novel.  Victor Frankenstein stretches scientific limits in the visionary horror classic.  It's alive!
