The loss of thee would never from my heart, 9:912-913
Adam tells Eve that he would never be able to forget her if he was to let her go. He must take of the forbidden fruit so that he can be with her. Even if he could get over the initial loss of a good companion, and not miss her converse and love so dearly joined, he would still feel empty. Adam has an attachment with her in his heart. This would wear on him throughout the rest of his years. Adam can not deal with this.
