MPLAB IDE Software:

During this semester we will be using the following version of MPLAB IDE. 

    MPLAB IDE v8.43 .... download

Other versions will become available throughout the semester, however, use this version of the software.

This will maintain consistency with the labs and other documentations.  Installation directions are shown below.

MPLAB IDE Installation Instructions:

– 1.  Remove ALL prior versions of MPLAB IDE as follows:

            For Windows XP perform the following ...

                a)  Start

                b)  Select ... "Control Panel"

                c)  Select ... "Install or Remove Program and Window Components"

                d)  If installed, Locate and click on MPLAB Tools vX.XX and Select "Remove"

                e)  Select "Yes" for "Do you want to completely remove the selected application

                     and all it's features?"

                f)  Finish

2.  Remove ALL prior versions of Hi-Tech C

            For Windows XP perform the following ...

                a)  Start

                b)  Select ... "Control Panel"

                c)  Select ... "Install or Remove Program and Window Components"

                d)  If installed, Locate and click on "Hi Tech C" Lite and Pro versions that may be installed

                e)  Select "Yes" for "Do you want to completely remove the selected application

                     and all it's features?"

                f)  Finish

3.  Installation of MPLAB IDE v8.43 is as follows ...

            For Windows XP perform the following ...

1. Save zip file (MPLAB IDE v8.43) to your computer
    
2. Double Click zipped file ... folder opens (do not close this folder until install is complete)
    
3. Run the setup.exe file by double clicking the file
    
4. May receive "File Download - Security Warning" ... select "Run"
    
5. MPLAB Tools window opens
    
6.  Next
    
7.  Accept .... Next
    
8.  Complete install ... Next
    
9.  Install in "Microchip" folder ... Next
    
10.  Maestro
     
    1.  Accept ... Next
        
11.  MPLAB C32 License ... Accept ... Next
     
12. Start copying files ... next
     
13. Install Hi-Tech C, when prompted by ...
     
    1. Yes
        
    2. Next
        
    3. Click "Accept Terms" .... Next
        
    4. Directory ... Next
        
    5. English
        
    6. Do not check "Add to Environment Paths" ... Next
        
    7. Finish
        
14. Restart Computer
     
15. Installation is complete
