The Deming Prize



The Deming Prize was established by the Japanese to honor him.  It is revered in Japanese as being a very high honor to receive it.  It was the first major quality award to be established.

The winners are companies which have distinguished themselves in the field of Company wide Quality Control, the Japanese word for Total Quality Management.  CWQC is recognized has being a broader, more encompassing term that TQM.  The award has 10 major categories with four to ten sub categories under each.  Investigators look at each of these sub categories and rate the company on each of these.  Winners are those with the highest overall scores.
