Bioinformatics to study evolutionary and environmental genomics

We use comparative and population genomics/transcriptomics to understand:
  • genomic divergence during ecological adaptation and speciation
  • evolutionary properties of copy-number variants (CNVs)
  • mutational spectra under environmental stress
  • the evolution of young genes, sex chromosomes, and TEs

We use metagenomics/metagenetics methods to:
  • evaluate the application of eDNA in environmental biomonitoring
  • assess spatiotemporal patterns across environmental gradients
  • investigate microbiome diversity under stressful conditions
