Calculus Early Transcendentals  (8th Edition) by James Stewart (Required)

Homework

Homework will be assigned every day and due on following Wednesday at 12:30PM. Except for problems that are stated explicitly, all problems are from Calculus Early Transcendentals by James Stewart 8th edition. Please show all of your work (writing a list of answers is not sufficient). You are encouraged to collaborate with classmate, but your final write up must reflect your understanding and you must acknowledge collaborators. One to four random problems will be graded. Homework solution will be posted. No late homework will be accepted. Your written homework must be stapled to prevent pages being lost. Please do not use paper clips!

Midterm 2: 10/16
, Mon

Grading and Attendance

Final grade will be computed according to the following scheme.

Written Homework 19%
Midterm I 19%
Midterm II 19%
Midterm III 19%
Final 24%

Attendance is not count towards your final grade. However, I strongly suggest attending all classes. If you must miss a class due to personal emergency, please notify your instructor as early as you can and set-up a meeting to discuss about make-up.

Withdrawing

Please note that the registrar has determined that Nov. 15, 2017 is the last day to withdraw with grade of "W" from a course (Fall 2017 Academic Calendar).

Honor Principle

Pertaining to the homework, while you are encouraged to discuss problems with other students, the solutions that you subsequently turn in are to be written on your own, in your own words, to show your final understanding of the problems. Please indicate at the top of your assignment whom, if anyone, you are working with. For exams, you may not consult any source, animate or inanimate, other than the instructor. Calculators will not be permitted on exams.

Student with disabilities

Any student with a documented disability needing academic adjustments or accommodations is requested to speak with your instructor early in the term. All discussions will remain confidential.  Students who think they may have a disability but are not sure are encouraged to consult with the disability service.
