Software & Tools Developed:

NS2 (Network Simulator v2) based Cognitive Radio Network Simulator (This work is partially supported by NSF grant CNS-1252643)

Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs), a novel technology with efficient spectrum utilization, is widely researched nowadays. An efficient simulation tool is necessary for researchers to simulate and analyze their solutions. We make use of existing NS-2 to extend it to support cognitive radio network simulation. Our CRNs simulation platform involves several network layers such as physical layer, MAC layer, network layer etc. Please click here for the detailed description of our simulation platform.

NS3 (Network Simulator v3) based Cognitive Radio Network Simulator (This work is partially supported by NSF grant CNS-1252643)

Recently, a number of problems in the CRNs considering the realistic effects (e.g. security and coexistence problems) are urged to be analyzed and solved with effective and efficient tools. Hence, we extend our previous NS2 based CRN simultor with NS3 in order to provide more interfaces such as security and coexistence, and attempt to build up the CRN testbed which may make the CRN simulator more realistic. Our NS3 based CRNs simulation platform involves the design of physical layer, MAC layer attack models and spectrum coordinator as well as spectrum database. Please click here for the detailed description of our simulation platform.
