Paleozoic Granitoids, La Rioja, Catamarca, and Cordoba Provinces, Argentina (2005)

May - June 2005 field trip to study and sample Paleozoic granitoids in west-central Argentina - La Rioja, Catamarca, and Cordoba provinces. After arrival in Cordoba, the field study starts at the Center Regional of Scientific Investigations and Technological Transfer, La Rioja (CRILAR) in Anillaco (northwest of La Rioja City), with the study of Paleozoic granites in the Sierra de Velasco. Subsequent study areas lie to the east in the Sierra de Ancasti east of Catamarca and the Sierra Grande de Cordoba (Achala batholith) west of Cordoba. Project collaborators are Juan Dahlquist and Pablo Alasino, National Council of Scientific and Technological Investigations (CONICET).
