George Barlow
PhD Student, UMass Lowell

George is working with VTMS, a fiber-sccale simulation software managed by AFRL. He is primarily looking at the packing patterns of fiber-reinforced composites and how it effects part properties. Additionally, he is running impact simulations on helmets to improve the protection and lessen the weight of helmets for the men and women who protect our nation.

Jamal Husseini
PhD Student, UMass Lowell

Jamal is working on developing functionally graded adhesives for stronger, stable composite joints. He will be transitioning to micromodelling of fiber-reinforced composites and RVE generation.

Ihsan Uluturk
PhD Student, UMass Lowell

Ihsan is working on all things textile. He is manufacturing and testing a variety of knits to quantify the effect of textile structure on mechanical properties. He is additionally developing actuated textiles made with actuator yarns.

Hengameh is is working on developing functionally graded adhesives, specifically using finite element models to guide the design of property gradation.
